Your first trio

Pick three names that compete for dex attention: a shiny you would Train as a trophy, a duplicate you would Trade, and clutter you would Transfer. Avoid mixing a legendary hundo you raid-invest with two random costume shinies on Dex if the real question is raids — that belongs on Raids lens.

Forced contrast matters. If you cannot pick a Transfer, you are not ready to rank — your storage is lying to you.

Dex holes versus shiny duplicates

Living-dex holes and shiny duplicates are not the same decision even when the species matches. A non-shiny regional you lack is often Dex Train against clutter you would Transfer, while a shiny duplicate of a completed line is frequently Trade bait material — rank them on the lens that matches the question instead of forcing one trio to mean both.

When community day floods your storage, run Trade bait peeks before mass Transfer. Anything that still sits Core or better on Trade bait might clear registration dust with a partner later. Storage caps and dex patience

Dex completion is a multi-month story; storage caps are a this-week story. Expand storage with coins if you can — Collectrio cannot buy slots for you — and keep ranking honest bottoms so the board learns what your region actually releases.
