How Collectrio handles data

Last updated September 24, 2026. This is a fan-made ranking tool, not a law firm letter.

Who we are

Collectrio is an unofficial ranking site for GO collections and trading-card collections. It is not affiliated with The Pokémon Company, Nintendo, Creatures, GAME FREAK, or Niantic. The public site is intended to live at https://www.collectrio.com (apex may redirect).

No accounts

Collectrio does not create user accounts, and it does not ask for your name, email, or phone number to rank a trio. If that changes, this page will change first.

Rankings you submit

When you submit a trio, Collectrio stores that ranking in two places when it can:

  • On your device, in browser localStorage, so this browser remembers that you already contributed and can unlock the full board.
  • On the server, so the public board can move for everyone, not just this browser. Local development writes JSON under the project data/ folder. Production uses Postgres when DATABASE_URL (or POSTGRES_URL) is set — typically Neon on Vercel. Until that store is connected, a ranking may stay on your device only. GET /api/health reports database: true once a URL is set; it never returns the URL.

A ranking is the three IDs you picked, the format lens, the product (Cards or GO), and a timestamp. It is not tied to a login.

Cookies and local storage

Collectrio uses first-party localStorage for your own rankings and, when ads are configured, for your advertising cookie choice (accept or decline). A real NEXT_PUBLIC_ADSENSE_CLIENT puts the AdSense site-verification snippet in the document head and writes /ads.txt. Display units stay off until an ad slot is also set. When client and slot are present, Collectrio asks for a choice before showing units. Declining keeps units off. When Google AdSense runs after you accept, advertising cookies, third-party cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, and other identifiers may be used as described below.

Advertising

When Google AdSense is enabled on Collectrio and you have accepted advertising cookies, third parties (including Google) may:

  • Place or read cookies, including advertising and third-party cookies.
  • Use web beacons, pixels, and similar technologies.
  • Collect IP addresses and other device or browser identifiers.
  • Use that information to serve ads, measure ads, and limit how often you see an ad.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to your website or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet.

Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.

Collectrio does not sell ranking data. We do not ask you to click ads, reward ad clicks, or disguise ads as navigation. Manual ad units sit after editorial copy, not beside ranking verbs.

Analytics and ads

Production uses Vercel Web Analytics for page views and visitors. It does not use a Google Analytics tag. A real NEXT_PUBLIC_ADSENSE_CLIENT is required for AdSense site verification (head snippet plus /ads.txt). Display units are not installed until an ad slot is also set. The intended monetization is Google AdSense. When client and slot are present, Collectrio shows a first-party consent prompt and only shows ad units after you accept. Declining keeps units off. /ads.txt is written from NEXT_PUBLIC_ADSENSE_PUBLISHER or ADSENSE_PUBLISHER (or derived from the client) when set.

Regional privacy notes

This first-party accept/decline control is not a Google-certified Consent Management Platform. For personalized ads in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Google requires a certified CMP configured in the AdSense publisher account (Privacy & messaging). U.S. state opt-out messages, where they apply, are also configured there by the publisher. Until those tools are live in the publisher account, Collectrio still keeps display units off unless you accept here — and units stay off entirely while the ad slot is unset.

Children

Collectrio is a collection-value tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
