Raids lens: Train priority without IV spreadsheets
IV checkers and attacker spreadsheets answer how a copy scores on stats and how a species hits hard in raids. Collectrio’s Raids lens answers a different crowd question: among these peers, which name would you Train with dust and candy, which would you Trade fairly, and which would you Transfer from the invest fight? Both tools can sit in a raider’s week. They are not the same job, and neither converts cleanly into the other.
Two questions, two tools
IV and attacker sheets answer: is this copy’s individual values worth powering, and how does this species compare as a raid attacker on published DPS and TDO tables? That job belongs to checkers, damage calculators, and any community sheet that ranks species for PvE. Collectrio does not publish IV floors, DPS tables, or type-chart math.
Collectrio’s Raids lens answers: relative to these peers on Raids, would the crowd Train this name for invest priority, Trade it as a fair move to someone who will invest, or Transfer it as the honest bottom of that invest trio? The public number is Elo from forced Train / Trade / Transfer comparisons — clamped, tiered, with a seven-day trend — not an IV percent and not a damage score. Recipe: /methodology. Lens tour: /guides/how-lenses-work.
If you only need to know whether a catch clears your personal IV bar or which species to search on a sheet, open the checker and leave Collectrio alone. If you need relative Train priority among names you actually own without pretending one sheet settled storage, open Raids on /go. Dual-tracking is fine. Merging the two into one fake “high IV equals Train forever” rule is not.
- IV / attacker sheets → copy quality and species damage roles.
- Collectrio Raids → relative Train / Trade / Transfer invest priority.
- Do not treat a board tier as an IV grade or a DPS rank.
What IV and attacker spreadsheets are good for
Use an IV checker when you are deciding whether this specific catch clears the bar you set for powering, lucky trading, or keeping a second line. Use attacker sheets when you are studying type coverage, comparing species for a boss, or planning which candy lines deserve XL walls. Those are combat-math and copy-quality jobs. Collectrio will not grade a mon’s IVs.
Sheets are also the right tab when a friend asks “is this worth the dust on stats alone?” You can answer from the checker without opening a Collectrio board. Collectrio ranks relative crowd preference on a lens; it does not certify movesets, weather boosts, or best friends for a raid lobby.
Honest limits of sheets: they do not know your storage pressure, your buddy queue, whether a shiny trophy is clogging the same species line, or whether a partner wants the copy more than you will invest. Collectrio does not invent those answers either — it simply refuses to pretend Elo is an IV column.
- Right tool for IV bars, DPS/TDO comparison, and type planning.
- Sheets ignore storage guilt and receive-side desire.
- Collectrio does not replace combat math or IV literacy.
What Collectrio’s Raids lens is good for
Use Raids when dust, candy, and team slots are the scarce resource and you need forced contrast among three names you might actually power. A Raids Train means worth investing relative to the other two — stardust, candy, buddy time, or a team slot — not a lifetime covenant and not a dollar grade. Verb depth: /guides/train-trade-transfer.
Live UI verbs on GO are Train, Trade, and Transfer only. Those labels are ranking verbs in a forced trio. Search threads that say keep-or-trade still map onto this trio — /guides/pokemon-go-keep-or-trade — but the product never shows Keep or Cut as on-page labels.
Open the GO board at /go/rankings and select the Raids lens. Unlock with one honest trio from /go if the board is still locked. How unlock works: /how-rankings-work. Abstract proxies only: names and dex facts on tiles — never official sprites, and never paste image URLs into the ranking story.
- Right tool for relative invest holds, fair moves, and cleanup bottoms.
- GO verbs: Train / Trade / Transfer.
- Board: /go/rankings → choose Raids.
What to power up — a Raids-first reading
Write one sentence before you open either tool: “I need to know if this copy’s IVs clear my bar,” or “I need to know which of these three attackers deserves the next dust.” The first sentence is a sheet job. The second is a Raids trio.
On Raids, power-up priority is the Train slot. Pick three attackers you might actually put dust into this week. Mark Train on the one you would invest first, Trade on the fair middle, Transfer on the copy that loses the invest fight tonight. If everything “feels like Train,” you are flattering the roster — the board needs Transfer to learn what people deprioritize.
Sheets can still veto a Train. A species that sits strong on Raids among weak peers can still fail your personal IV bar or moveset rule. Run the sheet after the trio when copy quality is the blocker, not instead of contrast. Re-rank when your invest plan changes — last season’s Train can Transfer against a fresher attacker line without insult.
- Sentence first → sheet vs Raids.
- Train = next dust among these three.
- Sheet vetoes copy quality; Raids ranks relative invest desire.
Train versus Transfer for raids
Train on Raids means you would spend dust and candy on this name before the other two. It does not mean the species is undefeated forever, and it does not treat stardust as money — dust is a game budget, not a cash quote. Transfer on Raids means this copy loses the invest comparison; cleanup language, not a slur. Deepen that ethic in /guides/box-cleanup-philosophy when storage hurt is the real feeling.
Trade sits between them: you would move the mon fairly to someone who will invest, or accept it as fair depth in a package. Prefer Trade bait lens when the question is receive-side desire for /go/calculator fairness — Raids alone does not settle shiny liquidity. Lens conflicts when Dex trophy and Raids invest disagree: /guides/lens-conflicts.
Before you Transfer a shiny or lucky that lost a Raids trio, peek Trade bait once. A Raids Transfer is not a Dex Transfer and not a Trade bait Transfer. Rank separate trios per lens instead of one vote that pretends trophy, invest, and liquidity are the same question — /guides/how-lenses-work.
- Train — invest first among these three on Raids.
- Trade — fair move / fair receive on this lens.
- Transfer — loses invest priority; peek Trade bait on shinies and luckies.
When Raids is the better tool
Prefer Raids when storage is full of “maybe attackers,” you already know the IV story, and you need forced ranking to spend dust without spreadsheet theater. Prefer Raids when two friends are arguing from different sheets and still need a shared Train / Trade / Transfer language on unlocked boards.
Prefer Raids when Dex pride and invest reality disagree. A shiny may be Dex Train and Raids Transfer relative to meta attackers you actually power. Do not average Dex and Raids into one fake answer — /guides/lens-conflicts. Map keep-or-trade search habits to product verbs when community threads blur the words — /guides/pokemon-go-keep-or-trade.
Prefer Raids when you are teaching a partner that Transfer is logistical cleanup in an invest trio, not flame language. Start ranking at /go, read tiers on /go/rankings, and keep sheets in a second tab for copy quality only.
When IV and attacker sheets are the better tool
Prefer sheets when the decision is literally “does this catch clear my IV bar,” when you need DPS/TDO ordering for a boss, or when you are planning type coverage for a lobby. Collectrio will not invent those numbers.
Prefer sheets when your counterparty only negotiates in IV percents and will not open Collectrio. You can still use Raids later for invest priority among copies you already decided to keep — just do not pretend Collectrio minted the IV claim.
If you only have a sheet open and you catch yourself saying “Collectrio proves this is the best attacker” — stop. Collectrio never said that. Raids ranks relative crowd invest preference among peers, not a published damage table.
- IV bars and DPS/TDO → sheets.
- Type coverage and boss planning → sheets.
- Partner only speaks IVs → checker first; Raids optional for holdings.
Honest limits of both
Sheets fail when the sample of published ranks is stale, when regional meta disagrees, when a “must power” list ignores your candy walls, or when two players cite different IV floors as if they were universal. They also fail socially: perfect IVs can still be Dex clutter you will never raid with.
Collectrio Raids fails when the sample of trios is thin on a niche attacker, when voters mix Dex trophy pride into Raids trios, when Trend is treated as a candle chart, or when someone deputizes a tier as an IV grade. Trend literacy: /guides/trend-without-noise. Framework language for utility versus liquidity: /guides/ranking-frameworks.
Both fail when dollar talk sneaks into a dust decision. Collectrio never shows marketplace prices — /guides/why-not-a-price-list. Cards and GO never share a fairness story — /guides/two-boards-never-mix. Raid-hour hype can inflate Train votes; sleep on Transfer bottoms after events — /guides/train-trade-transfer.
- Stale sheets and mixed IV floors hurt copy-quality debates.
- Thin trios, mixed lenses, and tier-as-IV-grade hurt Raids.
- Leave Dex, Raids, and Trade bait as separate questions.
A practical dual-track loop
When a real decision needs both copy quality and relative invest structure, run two tabs without merging them.
- Write the question in one sentence (IV bar vs invest priority vs package fairness).
- If IV / DPS: open the checker or attacker sheet; note your bar — no invented ranks.
- If invest structure: unlock /go, pick Raids on /go/rankings, submit Train / Trade / Transfer once.
- Read tiers for invest permanence — treat Raids strength as crowd preference, not DPS.
- If trophy story is the real fight, switch to Dex on a separate trio — /guides/starter-go-dex.
- If lenses disagree hard, read /guides/lens-conflicts instead of averaging boards.
- Optional: draft packages on /go/calculator under Trade bait; keep Raids for dust priority only.
